Kate Beckinsale

b. 1973
Kate Becknisale is the daughter of British sitcom star Richard
Beckinsale, who died when Kate was just five years old. Kate was then raised by her mother; actress Judy Loe She made her
movie debut in the Kenneth Branagh film adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing in
1993 while still studying at Oxford. After leaving Oxford the following year, she appeared in Cold
Comfort Farm, for BBC television.
She has starred in the adaptation of James Herbert’s
Haunted, the romantic comedy Shooting Fish,
The Last Days of Disco, The Golden
Bowl, Michael Bay's lavish World War II epic Pearl Harbour, and
opposite John Cusack in Serendipity, and of course more recently in vampire vs.
werewolves film, Underworld, and this year’s, Van
Helsing.
